CHILD, YOUTH & ADULT DANCE PARTIES
Whether you want to surprise your partner for their 40th with a 90s Hip Hop party, give your child and their class an awesome dance party for their 6th birthday OR simply arrange for you and some mates to have a ‘learn to dance’ party one Friday evening, we would love to help you have a brilliant time at SCD.
SCD PARTY PACKAGE
The price we charge includes sole use of SCD (the front shutter will be closed once your guests arrive, a minimum of 3 SCD Team Members throughout party, all relevant studio / PA / Lighting equipment and a teacher with assistant that will plan and deliver the party. Obviously, you have access to our toilets and changing areas. We can provide our large urn for hot drinks.
Our 2-hour party package price allows for up to 20 guests to take part. Above 20 participants we simply add a £8 per person charge. For children's parties, adults are welcome to stay if they wish and aren't included in the charged for numbers. However, we don't allow parents into the main dance party space during the led activities as we always find children 3.5+ do better without their adults in the room. Adults are welcome to watch whats happening on the screens. The exception to this is for children with additional needs who will benefit from having their adults present with them.
DATES & TIMES
SCD parties can take place usually on Sundays (after 12.00noon) or Saturdays (after 3.30pm). The price allows for a 2-hour party with up to an hour before your booking for you to arrive and setup / decorate the food and drink area. We can sometimes be flexible beyond these times, depending on classes, rehearsals and other SCD events.
In general, SCD parties are booked up 8-10 weeks in advance at least so do please get in touch ASAP with your desired dates.
THE PARTY PLAN
Typically SCD parties run with a 1 hour led dance party where guests have a warmup, dance based games (age specific) and learn specific choreography. The birthday person or organiser is invited to send SCD song ideas beforehand. After the hour, the party then moves to the food and drinks area to have whatever food and drink you have brought (see below) and then ends with a final 30 minute silent disco. This structure tends to work well for all ages but can be tweaked.
2 hour party package - £240 SCD enrolled class members
2 hour party package - £280 SCD guests or SCD member siblings
Deposits are for 50% of the total fee so £120 or £140
We can offer a dance party of a particular dance genre i.e. 80s disco, jazz, ballet, Ballroom and Latin, Street dance, Tap or Contemporary theme or a more generic disco dance party. If you have any other theme in mind, we can try to work this in, as well as including any requested songs.
We will identify an SCD team member who would be most appropriate for the age group and style you are looking for. All subject to availability of course.
We have a wide variety of props e.g. parachutes, balls and silent disco headphones available to be used within the party plan. We would normally expect the SCD led dancing to be for around an hour and also to have some ice breakers or games / silent disco time – dependent on what you would like.
Within our main studio we also have a high definition projector installed if you wish to show photos or videos within your party.
FOOD AND DRINKS
Bringing your own party food works well in our ‘Wait and Create’ area, using the large table there. We have plenty of fold away tables and chairs available within your party charge.
For party food packages we can highly recommend our friends upstairs in 'The Attic' Maggie's Diner and Antonino's Pizza can offer special deals for you and we can pass on your enquiry directly to them if you are interested. Our friend's at Caffe Kiko can cater with sandwiches, pastas, jacket potatoes and much more.
USE OUR SCREENS
We try to ensure every event is personalised for your celebration. Unless you tell us otherwise we will create a graphic for our projection and video screens featuring the name of who the party is for. If you wish, send a photo and we can add this too.
TABLES & CHAIRS
We can offer flexible seating for over 70 people in our studios.
Our tables are standard folding hospitality tables at 180cm x 70cm and we have 8 of these.

If you do wish to go ahead, kindly let us know what date(s) you have in mind as well as ages and rough numbers of those attending. We are generally booked up 10-12 weeks in advance.
We simply require a non-refundable * deposit of 50% to be paid at the time of booking, with the remaining 50% payable the day of the party. Cancellations made 72 hours or longer before the party is due to start will not be liable for the 50% balance.
Any deposit can be moved to a future booking if a cancellation is made more than 48 hours before the party is due to start.
*The deposit can only be refunded if the party is cancelled (in writing) 2 weeks before the event is due to start.
Please pay for these amounts via bank transfer (to save on card fees). Bank transfer details will be sent to you separately when the date is agreed.
