welcome to magic week 2024

At this time of year as summer days fade into our memories , fireworks fill the sky and pumpkins arrive on the scene, our very own SCD tradition is to celebrate 'MAGIC WEEK'.

MAGIC WEEK is the week after October Half Term, Monday 4th November - Saturday 9th November. 

MAGIC WEEK is one of our favourite weeks at SCD.  

Not everyone in our community chooses to celebrate Halloween. 

So every year around this time, SCD chooses to celebrate MAGIC WEEK.

We simply believe that the world (and all of us in it) needs more joy, hope, sparkle and spice now more than ever. That’s why we choose to spend a whole week where every class joins in with Magic Week.

Lessons take on a different vibe during Magic Week with sparkly, powerful and magical themes through the week and SCD looks a bit different.

3 ways you to get involved with MAGIC WEEK 2024:

1. WEAR MAGIC - DRESS UP HOWEVER YOU WANT!

All students (adults included!) are invited to dress up if they like; sparkles, magical outfits, superhero suits - whatever they want to help celebrate all that’s magical around us.

Maybe a sparkly outfit, some glitter and  face-paint – or a full blown morph suit if that takes your fancy! (You might laugh, but we have some available?!)

2. BE  MAGIC - DONATE ITEMS AT SCD FOR THE FOODBANK

At SCD we love how we can help each other to be kind and do even more to make our world a better place...however small our actions may feel to us.

Last year, during MAGIC WEEK 2023, we raised money for The Royal Marsden hospital and raised awareness for Breast Cancer Awareness week with our PINK event. This year we are asking us all to try and bring donations for our local FOODBANK, run by Sutton Community Works. - based just below us in the St Nicholas Centre. 3, SHARE MAGIC - SHOW SOME MAGIC IN OUR PHOTO COMPETITION

For the 3rd year in a row we will be running a MAGIC WEEK photo competition. Send us your most creative MAGIC WEEK PHOTO. Email it to info@scd.org.uk or share it and tag us at  Facebook (@SCDUK) or / Instagram  @scd.org.uk)

The best photos will show you in a great MAGIC outfit, doing something creative / dancey / kind ... just generally awesome.

1ST PRIZE - 3 months of free classes at SCD

2ND PRIZE - 1 month of free classes at SCD

3RD PRIZE - £20 SCD clothing voucher
