introducing scd's dancing for good fund

We often quote those famous words, that 'it takes a village...'. 

And since we launched SCD in 2019, this has always been about creating a community that loves to dance and finds life better because of dance.

We've always been about trying to remove barriers to dance and thats why we offer classes for everyone, why we have dedicated accessible studios and why we choose to pay more to have studios right in the middle of our town centre.

This is why we are setup as a Community Interest Company so we are legally committed to public benefit, have no shareholders or owners and put every £ back into our community.

We work hard to balance covering our costs while always providing high‑quality, caring teaching in the dedicated studios we are proud to have created together. AND we work really hard to keep our prices as affordable as possible. 

However, sometimes, some of us just need an extra support and we want to ensure fee costs are never the ultimate barrier for people joining SCD. In fact at any one time SCD is supporting about 60 families with their fee costs.

This is where SCD'S DANCING FO GOOD FUND comes in. We've always supported individuals and families at times of financial challenge and we don't shout about this as we want to keep this confidential and not awkward for anyone. But at any given month SCD supports around 60 families with their fees.
